NOVELLA is a tool that uses computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for non-invasive blood flow assessment of the arteries and veins included in the supramesocolic compartment. This tool primary aimed to support preoperative planning in hepatobiliopancreatic (HPB) surgery. NOVELLA is capable to simulate blood flow distribution after veins or arteries section recreating the conditions after a pancreaticoduodenectomy or a liver transplant, among others.
Blood flow evaluation
Initial blood flow evaluation is allowed using images extracted from a standard Computed Tomography.
Simulation of vascular sections
Simulation of different vascular section associated to surgical procedures can be analyzed previous to surgery.
